Founded in 1976, the gallery maintains a particular emphasis on the art of the Northwest Coast, Inuit, and Plains cultures. A recognized authority in the field, Donald Ellis has been instrumental in shaping institutional and private interest in Plains Ledger Art. The gallery’s inventory includes important historical works by Yup’ik, Navajo, Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian artists, as well as a small but significant collection of prehistoric ivories and contemporary Inuit art.
